Areas of Research/Expertise

X-ray crystallography and crystal engineering:
- X-ray single crystal diffraction studies of small molecule organic and organometallic compounds,
- molecular structure and intermolecular interactions in the solid state - identification of the molecular binding sites, main supramolecular synthons, the role of weak hydrogen bonds in stabilization of the crystal structure,
- polymorph screening and preparation of polymorphic samples,
- thermal stability studies, estimating of thermodynamic stability relationship of polymorphs (DSC, VT PXRD, DFT calculations),
- mechanochemical preparation of adducts (molecular salts and co-crystals) of hydrazones with polycarboxylic acids,
- polymorphism of multi-component crystal forms of APIs and salt-cocrystal equilibrium.

Chemical synthesis:
- synthesis of hydrazones, amidrazones, 1,2,4-triazoles and their transition metal complexes (a potential antibacterial and/or anticancer drugs)
- synthesis of lanthanide coordination polymers with heteroaromatic polycarboxylic acids
