My background is in the areas of inorganic synthesis, solution characterization, and solid state structural analysis based on single crystal X-ray diffraction. I later developed a special interest in the fields of supramolecular chemistry, crystal engineering, hydrogen bond studies, van der Waals interactions and metal coordination. These allowed us to open new areas of research, such as the development of solid state syntheses (mechanochemistry), polymorphism and co- crystallization studies, which are currently applied to the control of behavior, stability, solubility and bioavailability of Pharmacologically Active Principles. which led to the development of new techniques and new national and international collaborations.
Collaborations for structure resolution from high quality powder diffraction data are already in place and follow real-time X-ray diffraction and FTIR reactions with data acquired at the Bessy II Synchrotron in Berlin.
