My areas of research include non-conventional syntheses of compounds, mechanosynthesis, mechanochemistry, nanocrystalline materials, nanoglasses, metastable materials, non-equilibrium phases, complex oxides, structural characterization of nanomaterials, disordered nanomaterials, local structure of nanomaterials, Mössbauer spectroscopy, solid-state NMR, functional behavior of nanomaterials on a macroscopic scale, the particle size- and shape-dependent functional properties of nanomaterials, nanomagnetism, electrochemical properties, thermal stability, and correlations between the local structure and macroscopic properties of nanostructured materials.
