Key words
I am involved in in the experimental and theoretical studies of radiation defect formation in various materials (crystals, glasses and ceramics) and dosimetry which are carried out in Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia. We are applying experimental techniques, such as optical absorption, infrared spectroscopy, luminescence (photo-, X-ray and thermostimulated), EPR , a set of additional magnetic resonance and vibrational spectroscopic methods (ODMR, Raman and neutron scattering) in order to monitor the development of the radiation damage in several functional materials—diamond, Al2O3 (sapphire), MgAl2O4 spinel, which are attractive candidates for diagnostics/optical windows.
