Areas of Research/Expertise

My main research field belongs to mineral- and waste processing, especially to ultrafine grinding and mechanical activation. Investigation the technological questions, scale-up issues of minerals preparation by various mills: comapison of low and high energy density mills with specific interest to stirred media mill. Determination of the grindability (specific grinding energy) and fineness of materials. Most of the research work is focused on waste preparation in order to improve its reactivity in hydraulic and geopolymeric binding systems. Further topic is the mechanical activation of minerals (kaolin, zeolite, pumice, …) for various novel induastrial applications (construction industry, pharmaceutical industry, environmental industry,…).
